Bangkok is the modern metropolis which now extends to the west side of the river. The original city of Bangkok and almost all its tourist sights lie on the east side of the Chao Phraya river. When the city was founded, a canal was dug now referred to as Rattanakosin Island.

A wall and fortress defences originally protected the city. Some of the forts can still be seen today. This old royal precinct is where most of the major sights are, such as the Grand Palace, Wat Po and the National Museum.

Many visitors stay in Chiang Mai longer than planned because of the high quality and low cost of accommodation. They are also drawn by a variety of cuisine and shopping, cool nights, international atmosphere and friendly people.

With the increasing number of cultural and spiritual learning experiences available to visitors, Chiang Mai has become more than just a quick stop on the tourist trail.

An island of contrasts, Phuket has much to offer its visitors. White sandy beaches abound on the west coast and mangrove lined shores, on the east. A range of hills runs down her back from north to south, dividing the island in half. Waterfalls, especially in the ‘wet’ season spill into rock pools, scattered down the slopes. In the distance, islands rear out of the Andaman Sea, waiting to be explored.

Kui Buri National Park is located next to one of the largest national parks of the country, Kaeng Krachan. Both parks are rich in flora and fauna and offer habitat to animals like the tiger, elephant, and an incredible number of bird species.

Kui Buri is most famous for its wild elephant watching.

Kaeng Krachan National Park is one of the most preserved parks in Thailand. It covers 2200 square kilometers and is located 175 kilometers Southeast of Bangkok. It is the largest National Park of the country and offers habitat to many plants and animals.

There are 153 different protected species of animals including the tiger, elephant, and monkey. The rare hornbills are one of the most beautiful birds here and they can easily been seen at the park.

Of the many thosands of temples that Thailand has to offer One World Tours have picked a very few here that may be of interest. Wat Trimitr, the Temple of the Golden Buddha - the statue of Buddha is made from solid gold weighting 5.5 tons.

It is a fine example of Sukhothai art and was discovered by chance from a layer of stucco during construction of the temple.

Passing through Chinatown. Wat Po, the temple of the Reclining Buddha - the largest and oldest in Bangkok. Wat Benchamabopit - the marble temple. This magnificent monastery was built with white Italian marble from Carara.
